A reapplication reminder — not sun protection. Alert. patches respond to UV reaching them. They are not a sunscreen, do not block UV, and do not measure how protected your skin is. Always reapply suncream as directed on its label.
How to use
1. Patch on first. Clean, dry, bare skin — wrist, arm, knee or leg — before any suncream.
2. Suncream on top. Your usual SPF 30+, over your skin and straight over the patch.
3. Give it 30 minutes. It settles to its palest lilac. That's your baseline — take a look so you know it.
4. Deeper = reapply. Suncream back over the top and it fades again. Fresh patch the next day.
Water resistant, but no adhesive is guaranteed in water — press it down before you swim and check it when you get out.
Reading the colour
The patch never goes completely clear. Even under a generous layer of SPF 50 it settles to a pale lilac — that's normal. What you're watching for is the shade deepening toward purple through the day.
It also sits pale in shade, indoors or under clothing, where little UV reaches it. A pale patch on its own is not a sign that you are covered.

Common questions
Before or after suncream? Before — always. A patch left uncovered goes deep purple in sunlight whatever you've put on the rest of your skin, so it won't tell you anything useful.
Mine is still slightly purple — is it faulty? No. The resting state is pale lilac, not colourless. The signal is the change in shade.
Can I swim with it? Yes. Press it down firmly beforehand, check it when you get out, and reapply your suncream after any time in the water whatever shade the patch is.
Should I rely on it instead of the bottle? No. It is a prompt to help you remember, not a measure of how protected you are. Follow the guidance on your suncream label regardless.
